Appliance Spring Cleaning

Okay, so this isn't the most glamorous topic today, but I always love picking up little tips and tricks on how to keep my home neat and tidy. Here are a few pointers I've learned along the way using plain old white vinegar, lemons, and baking soda to clean some of our most used appliances:

Dishwasher-
I fill a bowl with white vinegar and place it on the top rack. I then sprinkle about a cup of baking soda in the bottom of the dishwasher and run it on the hottest setting.

Microwave-
I fill a soup bowl with water and the juice of half a lemon. I microwave for 3-4 minutes and wipe out the inside of the microwave.

Keurig-
I fill the water reservoir with half water, half white vinegar and leave to sit for 4 hours. I then "brew" the liquid into a large container until it is all gone. I do the same method again with plain water and then fill back up as normal. We also have a Nespresso, but I purchase the cleaning solution kit (I usually stock up on Nespresso and accessories for it in Europe, where they're priced much cheaper).

Washing Machine-
I run a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water on a hot water setting in an empty washer. I also make sure to leave the lid open in between loads so no bacteria grows.

I usually clean all of these things seasonally, about 4 times a year or as needed. I make sure to keep on top of tidying the kitchen on a daily basis, usually at the end of the night after supper is cleaned up. Seasonally I also make sure to clean and polish the fronts of the kitchen cabinets as well as vacuum out the crisper drawers in the fridge as well as the silverware organizer too.

Do you have any kitchen cleaning tips you'd like to share? Let me know down below, I'd love to hear from you!

Thanks for reading, have a fabulous day. :)
