πŸ’„ Walmart Beauty Box-Spring 2022

If you read my previous Walmart Beauty Box review, you’ll know it was a doozy. I was only able to use one out of the seven items. I’m happy to report that my most recent box was MUCH better!

Here’s a few of the standouts from my Spring box:

Impress Press-On Nails-

I was so skeptical to try these but I made sure to push them all the way against my cuticles as well as filing them down to a more believable length (it took less than 5 minutes!). While they didn’t last more than a few days (I’m so rough on my hands), I couldn’t believe how good they looked! I won’t be skipping my bi-weekly manicures, but I would definitely keep a pack of these for an unexpected event or a weekend getaway. And at $5 a pack they’re a bargain compared to the nail salon.

Monday Smooth Shampoo & Conditioner-

This is one of the best shampoo and conditioners duos I’ve tried in a long time. It’s made for frizzy and dull hair, and I could tell the difference from one wash. It helped tame down my frizz without giving me helmet head, haha. It’s around $7 a bottle and is cruelty free too!

Hard Candy Crystal Lip Duo-

I was sent the shade Crushed Crimson and whoa! One end is a chrome iridescent lipstick and the other side is a glitter topper. The results are like a disco ball, in the very best way. This is so fun for date night and lasts hours. I would love to try a more neutral color, I’ve got my eye on the nude shade Shimmering Champagne. After spending way too much money on lip products from department store brands, I’m astounded at the quality for under $7.

If you’re looking for a fun subscription I can’t recommend Walmart Beauty enough. The box is only $6.98 shipped and they’re mailed quarterly. For me, it's the perfect amount of products to try. I also love travel sized goodies, perfect for stashing away for upcoming trips. I can’t wait to see what’s in my summer box!

Thanks for reading, have a fabulous day. :)

PS~ A very happy birthday to my brother Gino today! Wishing you every happiness in the year ahead. Love ya! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

πŸ’„ Walmart Beauty Box~Winter 2021

I thought about skipping this review entirely, as it was the worst Walmart Beauty Box I’ve received to date. It arrived about a month late, and aside from the nail polish, I don’t know what they were thinking. But I have to be honest and share the good with the bad, so here’s a quick rundown of the contents:

Liquid IV Hydration Multiplier-

I feel like I get one of these in every box lately, and they’re not for me. Way too much sugar and salt per serving.

Hempz Original Herbal Body Moisturizer-

I know this is a fan favorite and has been around for a long time, but the smell makes me sick.

ProFusion Holiday 2021 Eyeshadow Palette-

3 hot pink shades, and one garish glitter shade. Pass.

They also included a single Neutrogena makeup remover wipe, a sample of No 7 line corrector serum, a NYX butter gloss in a coral shade, and a Sinful Colors nail polish in the shade Ruby Glisten.

Even though I didn’t enjoy this particular box, it’s always fun to see what’s inside!

Thanks for reading, have a fabulous day. :)

πŸ’„ Walmart Beauty Box~Fall 2021

Hi! Today I want to do a review of the Walmart Beauty Box for Fall 2021. I love getting these boxes in the mail quarterly, they're only $7 shipped and are always chock-full of such useful things! I’ve had some time to test everything out and although this wasn’t my favorite box, I found 2 of the items to be fantastic!

C’est Moi Refreshing Papaya & Strawberry Seed Facial Mask-$9.99 (Currently sold out at Walmart, available at Target)

This was my favorite item from this season. The strawberry seeds gently remove dead skin. This mask smells delicious and leaves my face so soft!

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge-$4.66

To be completely honest, my puppy Ferdinand tore this to shreds before I could even try it. But it does have a 4.6 rating from over 2500 customers. Plus, it’s much less expensive than a $20 Beauty Blender.

Liquid I.V. Hydration Multiplier Packets-$8.98/6ct

I don’t have a problem with hydration, but I gave this a try to give my honest review. It tasted too salty for my taste and has 11g of sugar per serving. Maybe this would be useful if I had the flu? I don’t enjoy when they include these types of products in my Beauty Box.

Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Cleanser-$8.34/6oz

This didn’t give me any irritation or redness, but at the same time I felt like I had slimy residue on my skin after rinsing. In my opinion, skip it.

Dove Exfoliating Body Polish Pomegranate & Shea-$6.47/10.5oz

This was another great product that I really enjoyed. It smells so yummy and has such fine particles and a lather, making it easy to use and rinse off. The formula contains 1/4 moisturizer, so it left my skin silky smooth. I’ve been using it 1-2x a week and will definitely repurchase.

All in all it's a super great deal (this box had a valuable of approximately $19) and I love seeing what surprises are included each quarter. If you're thinking about signing up I highly recommend it as one of the best beauty subscriptions I've ever tried. I can't wait to see what's in the fall box!

πŸ’„Walmart Beauty Box~Summer 2021

Hi! Today I want to do a review of the Walmart Beauty Box for Summer 2021. I love getting these boxes in the mail quarterly, they're only $7 shipped and are always chock-full of such useful things! I’ve had some time to test everything out and I think this was the best box yet! (Although I think I say that every time, haha.)

Here’s a look inside my Summer box:

Frizz Ease Dream Curls Conditioner-$6.97/8 oz

Being a curly haired girl in the hot humid summer has always been a challenge. This conditioner helps to define my curls without weighing them down. Not to mention it smells absolutely divine!

Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner-$5.39

I received the color “rich black” and it’s a wonderful smudge proof and waterproof formula. Great for both smokey and cat eye looks and the best part, it’s retractable! You don’t have to sharpen it. I can see why it’s the #1 eyeliner in the US.

Listerine Ready! Tabs-$5.97/24-pack

My hubby snatched these for his work bag, but they’re a wonderful concept and would be great for freshening up after a meal out or on a long flight. You just chew, swish, and swallow!

Almay Lip Vibes Lipstick-$5.97

I received the shade “Love Yourself” and it’s a gorgeous, deep blue red (I’m wearing it in the photo!). It’s a buttery formula, cruelty free, hypoallergenic and fragrance free. This will be great for date nites!

Cetaphil Extra Gentle Daily Scrub-$7.36/6 oz

This was by far my favorite item in this box. The exfoliating particles are super fine, so it doesn’t scratch your skin. Rather it buffs away impurities. It also cleanses and conditions skin, a 3-in-1 formula!

Cetaphil Sheer Mineral Sunscreen-$9.97/3 oz

I’m very particular about sunscreen, but I took this to try on a recent beach trip and I loved it! It’s SPF 50, fragrance free and hypoallergenic, not greasy, and waterproof for up to 80 minutes. Also, I love that it’s safe for both face and body. The fewer the products I need to pack the better!

All in all it's a super great deal (this box had a valuable of approximately $18) and I love seeing what surprises are included each quarter. If you're thinking about signing up I highly recommend it as one of the best beauty subscriptions I've ever tried. I can't wait to see what's in the fall box!

πŸ’„ Walmart Beauty Box Review~Summer 2020

Hi there and thanks for stopping by! With so many beauty subscriptions out there to choose from, I must suggest Walmart Beauty Box as an excellent option.

The box is quarterly, not monthly, which I love because they’re seasonally themed and I don’t end up with more products than I can enjoy. Each box is custom tailored to you. There's a quiz when you sign up asking basic questions such as your skin tone, any skin problems, hair texture, etc. I also like that the box is free, the only charge is $5 for shipping. At $20 a year the contents are a bargain.

This season’s theme is "self-care" and it couldn't come at a more perfect time. There were some hits and some misses for me, but I'll do a quick run through of all the goodies I received this season:

Dove Dry Conditioner-$4.88
This is a repeat from the spring 2020 box. I don't really care for dry shampoo, and this left my hair weighed down and slightly sticky. Not my favorite, but this would be perfect to freshen up after a workout since it smells divine, or to tame frizzy ends.

Hello Charcoal Whitening Toothpaste & Charcoal Infused Toothbrush-$4.82/$3.96
I LOVE this toothpaste! I am totally on board with the charcoal trend, it leaves my teeth feeling squeaky clean. I haven’t tried the toothbrush yet but figure it’s perfect to replace my old toothbrush in my travel toiletry kit (if I ever leave the house again, haha).

NYX #thisiseverything Lip Oil in lavender-$5.97
I currently have this sitting on my nightstand and I’ve been using it several times a day and overnight. The lavender color disappears on your lips instantly and is moisturizing while not being too thick or slimy. It has a faint cherry vanilla scent and would be awesome as a hydrating base for lipstick.

Biore Rose Quartz Daily Purifying Cleanser-$6.47
I already have a rose quartz facial roller that I’m in love with, so I was excited to see it being used in a face wash. Rose quartz has been known for centuries for its healing powers, and as a stone that radiates love. I also I like that this face wash has charcoal in it, it left me with a deep clean without my skin feeling tight or dry.

In full transparency, I didn’t try the magnesium supplement ($9.96). I like to do a lot of research on supplements and really like my regimen right now as is. I have heard some really great things about magnesium being used for nerve function, blood pressure, and even as a natural migraine treatment. However, too much magnesium can cause digestive problems and even irregular heartbeat. Always make sure to consult with your doctor before switching things up.

All in all it's a super deal (this box had a value of approximately $18) and I love seeing what surprises are included each quarter. If you're thinking about signing up I highly recommend it as one of the best beauty subscriptions I've ever tried. I can't wait to see what's in the fall box!

πŸ’„ Walmart Beauty Box Review~ Spring 2020

With so many beauty subscriptions out there to choose from, I must suggest Walmart Beauty Box as an excellent option.

The box is quarterly, not monthly, which I love because they’re seasonally themed and I don’t end up with more products than I can enjoy. Each box is tailored to you since there's a quiz when you sign up asking basic questions such as your skin tone, any skin problems, hair texture, etc. I also like that the box is free, the only charge is $5 for shipping. At $20 a year the contents are a bargain.

This month's theme is "self-care" and it couldn't come at a more perfect time. There were some hits and some misses for me, but I'll do a quick run through of all the goodies I received this season:

Lumify Eye Drops-$19.97
These were my favorite thing I tried. My mom once went to an eye doctor that said we should be moisturizing our eyes every time we moisturize our skin. I took this to heart and have been using moisturizing drops daily. These do the job and actually make the whites of your eyes whiter somehow.

Dove Dry Conditioner-$4.88
I don't really care for dry shampoo, and this left my hair weighed down and slightly sticky. Not my favorite, but this would be perfect for a gym bag to freshen up after a workout since it smells divine.

Curel Dry Skin Therapy-$10.94
This was another favorite for me. My hands have been extremely dry and cracked with all the hand washing, and this left my skin feeling like it had a protective barrier. I also like that it is unscented too.

NYX Professional Soft Matte Liquid Lipstick-$6.97
Liquid lipstick is not my thing as I find it way too drying for my lips. I received 2 pretty hues, one coral and one metallic nude. I'll be sure to pass these to my grandma, I know she'll enjoy them.

Colgate Optic White Renewal Whitening Toothpaste-$6.96
Toothpaste...not too exciting, right? Well this was another winner for me. This toothpaste is different because it targets stains that are up to 10 years old! I love me some coffee and tea, and with just a few brushes I truly noticed my pearly whites a shade whiter. Optic White contains 3% hydrogen peroxide for maximum whitening power, as well as fluoride to help fight cavities. I'll be repurchasing for sure!

Even though I wasn't crazy about a few things, I always find these boxes so much fun to open and I love trying new products that I might normally not buy. I can't wait to see what the summer box has in store!

Thanks for reading, have a fabulous day. :)

πŸ’…πŸ» Beauty Find ~ Essie Gel Couture Platinum Grade Topcoat

Hi there! I love reading about awesome beauty finds, so I thought I'd share one of mine:

I recently tried the Essie Gel Couture Platinum Grade topcoat and couldn't believe my eyes. 7+ days with only the slightest teeny tiny chips, barely visible. Usually for me after about 3-4 days my nails are chipped beyond repair and I have to start all over. You can use it over any polish you have, not only the Essie Gel Couture line. This is giving my go-to Out The Door topcoat a serious run for its money. I am so impressed with this topcoat and just had to share!

My favorite mani as of late is 2 coats of this gorgeous pale pink Dior shade in "Tra-La-La", gold glitter on my ring fingers, and one coat of the Essie topcoat. Feminine, clean, pretty, and matches essentially every outfit.

πŸ’„ Walmart Beauty Box Review~Fall 2019

Hi! Today I want to do a review of the Walmart Beauty Box for Fall 2019. I love getting these boxes in the mail quarterly, they're only $5 shipped and are always chock-full of such useful things! This is the first time that I received 3 items that were included in the previous box, but I don't mind because all 3 things are some of my favorites.

Without further ado here's what was included for Fall:

Tresseme Volumizing Dry Shampoo~$1.98
Although I'm not on board with dry shampoo in lieu of washing, I loved using this as a texturizing spray on my clean hair. This was a repeat item, but I love this size for travelling.

Salon Perfect Done in One Brow Pomade in Dark Brown~$5.97
This was by far my favorite item in this season's box. It's a repeat but I love it! It keeps my brows perfect looking all day and I love the duel ended spooly/brush that comes with it.
Coming in at under $3 for a small tub, this stuff is such bang for your buck. It smells heavenly, and is derived from 98% natural ingredients. I love that it has 3 different uses, as a mask, a conditioner, or a leave in treatment depending on how long you leave it it. It’s very light and leaves my hair silky and shiny.

Bic Soleil 3 Sensitive Razor~3/$5.67Not groundbreaking, but a pretty good razor that left my legs super smooth.
Teleties hair tie~3/$7.99This is one of those hair ties that don't cause breakage or a dent in your hair, and isn't supposed to slip or cause headaches. My hair is just starting to be long enough for ponytails so I'm excited to give it a try.
Neutrogena Strip to Scrub~6/$6.97This was the most exciting thing in this box for me. It's a blackhead nose strip that instead of peeling off, dissolves into a very good facial scrub. Such a neat concept that left my face feeling squeaky clean!
Blistex Lip Vibrance with SPF 15~$2.44This product was a miss for me becasue I don't like pinky colored products on me, but it's really neat because it has a bit of shimmer, SPF, and a built in mirror. I would love this in a frosty white color!
All in all it's a super great deal (this box had a valuable of approximately $17) and I love seeing what surprises are included each quarter. If you're thinking about signing up I highly recommend it as one of the best beauty subscriptions I've ever tried. I can't wait to see what's in the winter box!

πŸ’‹ Walmart Beauty Box ~ Purely Pretty

Hi there! I'm back with another Walmart Beauty Box review. I received this box in early June, but wanted to give everything a good try before writing a review. It's only $5 shipped and are quarterly. For me, it's the perfect amount of products to try, and I love that the boxes are themed. I also love travel sized goodies, perfect for stashing away for upcoming trips.

This box is named Purely Pretty and I really enjoyed everything! Here's a quick rundown of all the goodies:

Salon Perfect Brow Pomade in Dark Brown-$4.47
This was by far my favorite item in this season's box. I've never tried brow pomade before and I love it! It keeps my brows perfect looking all day and I love the duel ended spooly/brush that comes with it.

Soo Ae Black Charcoal Purifying Sheet Mask-$2.50
Soo Ae is one of my favorite mask brands and I was so excited to try this! Very mild and left my skin feeling smoother after just one use.

Tresemme Between Washes Volumizing Dry Shampoo-$3.84/2-pack
Although I'm not on board with dry shampoo in lieu of washing, I loved using this as a texturizing spray on my clean hair. I've already repurchased in a larger size.

Hello Charcoal Whitening Toothpaste-$4.82/8 oz
I LOVE this toothpaste! I am totally on board with the charcoal trend, it leaves my teeth feeling squeaky clean and this small size is great for travel.

This lasted 4 showers for me with my short hair, but it left it well conditioned but not weighed down. Would love to try it in the winter when my hair gets extra dry.

And finally, the cutest pouch. I love little pouches like this, I always find a use for them!

Walmart Beauty Box ~ Hydration Heroes

With so many beauty subscriptions out there to choose from, I must suggest Walmart Beauty Box as an excellent option.

The box is quarterly, not monthly, which I love because they’re seasonally themed and I don’t end up with more products than I can enjoy. Each box is tailored to you since there's a quiz when you sign up asking basic questions such as your skin tone, any skin problems, hair texture, etc. I also like that the box is free, the only charge is $5 for shipping. At $20 a year the contents are a bargain.

This current box is my 4th, so I have been enjoying it for one year now. It is an excellent value in my opinion, and I thought I could share what comes in each box and do a quick review.

The theme for Winter 2019 is Hydration Heroes. The samples came packed in an adorable pewter metallic cosmetic case! This was such a nice surprise and I plan on using the case for all my sunscreen.

Here is a quick rundown of the rest of the contents:

CurΓ©l Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer-
I’m new to the concept moisturizing wet skin, but it makes so much sense. Doing so locks in the moisture even better, it absorbs quicker, and doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy.

Olay Daily Facials with Grape seed extract-
I’ve only ever used pre moistened cleansing cloths but now I’m hooked. These wipes serve 5 purposes, they cleanse, tone, hydrate, exfoliate, and remove makeup all in one. They don’t leave any residue behind and they leave my skin feeling deeply clean, which I can’t say for the wet kind of facial cloths.

Garnier Fructis Damage Repairing Papaya Hair Mask-
Coming in at under $3 for a small tub, this stuff is such bang for your buck. It smells heavenly, and is derived from 98% natural ingredients. I love that it has 3 different uses, as a mask, a conditioner, or a leave in treatment depending on how long you leave it it. It’s very light and leaves my hair silky and shiny.

Garnier Skin Acitve 3-in-1 Face Moisturizer with Rose Water-
Next to the sheet mask, this was my favorite thing from this box. Similar to the hair mask it serves 3 purposes-as a moisturizer, a leave on mask, and a rinse-off mask. I would apply a thin layer after washing my face in the morning and it made such a smooth base for my makeup. It left my skin slightly dewy but not sticky and it’s not heavy at all. It also smells really nicely of roses, very lightly and not overpowering. This is just under $10 for a full size and I can honestly say I thought it was much more effective than many more expensive moisturizers I’ve tried.

Cetaphil Eye Gel-Cream-
This is a pretty cool product and I had no idea Cetaphil even made eye creams. It’s a hybrid between a gel and a cream so it’s very light while deeply moisturizing. It’s full of hyaluronic acid and a vitamin complex, while also being non-irritating and hypoallergenic. I felt it made my under eye area look smoother and brighter. This was another product I applied in the morning and I felt it helped my makeup apply better.

πŸ¦„ Soo’Ae Unicorn Glow Hologram Mask-
This is a brightening mask that is 2-sided. The outside is the most fabulous metallic holographic foil and the inside is a black charcoal which helps to detox and purify the skin. Aside from being fun and smelling nice, this mask was extremely effective at brightening my skin. This was definitely the best and most exciting product in my opinion. Who doesn’t love unicorns? ;-)

All in all I think was was a marvelous box full of hydration helpers for winter. The samples were all big enough for a few uses and I got to try out some new to me products and formulas. I can’t wait to fill you in on the spring box!

Thanks for reading, have a fabulous day. :)

Function of Beauty Review

One of the most unique and fun gifts I’ve ever received was for Christmas from my parents this year. They bought me a gift certificate for a custom bottle of shampoo and conditioner from Function of Beauty. I went to their website and entered the gift code and began creating my own hair products...

You select 5 areas of concern for your hair, your hair thickness, texture, and any problem areas you have. You then get to choose your scent and finally the color. I went with lavender colored shampoo, pink conditioner and a medium strength pineapple scent.

I love this concept because when I’m in the shampoo aisle of a store I feel like I find products that address some of my hair needs, but not all. I think it’d be cool to change the scent and add-ins for each season and I also love the fact that they never test on animals and are paraben and sulfate free.

My package arrived in about a week and everything was customized with my name on it, even the sticker on the box. Just this little attention to detail is such a nice touch.

I’ve been using the products for about a month now and I’m in love. Aside from the scent transforming my bathroom into a tropical paradise, I’ve definitely noticed a difference in my hair. It’s stronger and less frizzy with noticeably more shine. I also like the personalized regimen they provide in the box with suggested cleansing and conditioning frequency.

If you need a creative gift idea or just want to experience custom hair products for yourself then I definitely suggest giving Function of Beauty a try. I’ll be a repeat customer for sure!

Thanks for reading. :)
