šŸ¶ Packing For Your Pup

Happy Monday! With lots of summer travel, I thought I’d share a quick list of things I make sure to pack for my dogs when we board them at the kennel, or “camp” as we like to call it. Every dog has different needs and comforts, but here’s what works for us:

Printed instructions-

I include instructions for feeding, medications, and our vet’s contact information in case of an emergency. I staple it to their bag in case there’s different staff working on different days.

Tee-tee pads-

Lots of them! 2 of our dogs are paper trained and so I make sure to include 5-6 of them for every day we’re gone.

Sweaters-

I don’t include these in the heat of summer, but I do for the other 3 seasons. My dogs are 3, 9, and 10 lbs so they don’t have a lot of meat on their bones!

Blankets/Dog beds-

I have a very squishy, comfy king sized comforter and a large dog bed that I reserve for camp. I wash them when I get home and store them in trash bags in our storage room. This gives them lots of room to spread out and cuddle up.

Food-

I pack wet, dry, and Freeze-dried chicken to entice them and make sure they eat well while I'm away.

Nutri-Cal & Medications-

Nutri-Cal is for emergencies only for Eloise, my smallest dog. She has hypoglycemia and needs a bit of this sugary paste if she doesn’t eat a good meal. If your dog(s) take any medication regularly, I highly recommend filling weekly am/pm pill boxes, labeling them with their name in Sharpie, and include a tasty treat to put them in. When my dogs take medication I use the Greenies brand pill pockets in the peanut butter flavor. Works like a charm!

What do you pack for your pets before you go away? Let me know down below, I love hearing from you!

Thanks for reading, have a fabulous day. :)
