Hello and Happy Monday! Today I’m sharing a wonderful cooking class my mom and I recently attended.
This class was at the King’s Cooking Studio, located in the King’s grocery store in Summit, NJ. Chef Kathleen Sanderson taught the class and the menu was inspired by one of my favorite movies “Julie & Julia”.
Here’s a rundown of everything we made:
Herbed Parmesan Gougere-
These are little puffs of heaven! They’re made from a choux pastry on the stove with Parmesan cheese and herbs added for flavor.
Salad with Roasted Beets and Goat Cheese Vinaigrette-
This was the course Mom and I worked on. Mom was in charge of peeling and slicing the beets, and I assembled the salad. The star of the show was the baked goat cheese coated in herbs and Panko. I can’t wait to recreate this salad at home!
Beef Bourguignon-
Red wine, onions, bacon, yummm. Chef Kathleen’s version was served over buttered noodles with roasted Brussels sprouts and some homemade crusty French bread. It was truly spectacular.
Chocolate Soufflé-
Another delectable course! The soufflés were so elegant and it was topped off with crème anglaise. Très magnifique!
We had such a fun afternoon and already can’t wait to go back and take another class soon. I love spending time with my mom and it was great picking up some cooking tips and tricks while eating a delicious meal!
Thanks for reading, have a fabulous day. :)
