Hermès Wallpaper

When we moved into our condo in July 2017 I was so excited to have a wallpaper accent wall. We wanted to change the green stripe wall in the room that we use as an office/guest bedroom/my closet.

Finding someone in 2019 to hang wallpaper proved to be a bit more of a challenge than we imagined and when we found someone, it took an additional 2 months for him to become available.

After almost a 2 year wait it's finally up and I am so pleased with the results! We chose an Hermès wallpaper in the print "Fil D'Argent" in the greige color. It is inspired by bridle bits and I love how it is complimented by the color scheme throughout the rest of our home. (For our paint we chose Benjamin Moore Kendall Charcoal throughout the house and Black Panther and Decorator White for our dining room).

Hermès wallpaper is quite pricey, but doing an accent wall meant only having to purchase 2 rolls. I think it's such a fun way to add a splash of designer elegance at a fraction of the price of doing an entire room!

Please note that all Hermès wallpaper is made to order and delivery takes approximately 8 weeks. Because it is made in small batches it is imperative to make sure you measure correctly and have enough, because if you order additional rolls later on, it won't match.

Also, the paper does not come pre-glued and requires a glue made of wheat, free of PVC. It took a bit of research but we were able to special order some at Home Depot.

Here's the before and after:
