Happy Labor Day! If you’re in the States I hope you’ve having a fun and restful long weekend.
With Fall right around the corner I thought I’d share my take on the hottest trends. While I’m not usually a trend follower and much prefer the classics, I always think it’s fun to see what’s coming down the runway and how it translates to the real world.
I’ll most certainly skip the crop tops and catsuits that are being featured, but here’s a few trends I’m totally on board with:
Knits-
There’s nothing comfier than a soft, cozy, chunky sweater. Knits are back in a big way and they’re so wearable! Paired with everything from joggers, to jeans, to pencil skirts.
Tailored Pieces-
This doesn’t have to mean a full pantsuit, but rather a crisp white button down, or even a well fitting blazer. A blazer looks so cute with jeans and converse over a simple tee, and bonus points for swapping out the cheapie buttons most blazers come with. I found some vintage Chanel buttons on Etsy, such a simple way to elevate a basic piece.
Sequins & Sparkle-
If you’ve been reading here for more than a minute, it’ll come as no surprise this is the trend I’m most excited for! A magpie at heart, I love everything shiny and sparkly. That doesn’t mean you have to wear head-to-toe glitz à la a Vegas show girl. Little touches such as a hair band, a brooch, or even a sparkly nail polish can make a dull outfit pop!
Ski Bunny Chic-
Puffer jackets are back again in a big way this season as well as Fair Isle knits. You’ll look fabulous both on and off the slopes and stay warm and cozy while doing it!
Back in Black-
While LBD’s never go out of style, they were a huge theme on the runway this season. They were featured on the catwalks of Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, and Versace just to name a few. Skip the loud prints and go classic.
Do you have a favorite trend for the upcoming season? Let me know down below, I love hearing from you!
Thanks for reading, have a fabulous day. :)
