🕶️ Summer Trends 2021

Hi there and thanks for stopping by!

Summer is almost here and there's so many new trends. Copying high fashion looks straight from the catwalks of Paris to your everyday life can be challenging. While looks like crop tops, sequins, and capes might not translate very well to your weekly Target run, here’s a few trends for this summer that I think would be excellent for every day wear:

Monochrome~
Monochromatic outfits can be so simple and stylish! One color head to toe can be so chic, and also slimming. It creates a long lean line to the eye instead of breaking yourself up between a different top and bottom color. Think outside the box with colors, textures, and tones.

Floor Length~
Mini skirts and short shorts are out this summer (and I'm so OK with that, haha). A floor length maxi skirt, paired with a more fitted tee and some sandals will have you looking like you just stepped out of a postcard from Santorini! Maxi skirts flatter virtually every body shape, just remember since its such a voluminous bottom, wear a more fitted top to keep the proportions in check.

Baggy Pants~
Time to ditch tight leggings and jeggings. Fuller pants have made a comeback and they can look chic instead of frumpy. Again, similar to maxi skirts, it's important to keep proportions in mind and wear more fitted tops or even tucked in tops to keep proportions correct. I think slouchier pants have such a "cool kid", downtown vibe.

Stripes~
Stripes done wrong can look like a circus tent. However, when done right they can be très French seaside chic. Two things to keep in mind for wearing stripes are the smaller the better, and when you wear them on the bottom, vertical are much more flattering (think pinstripes).

White Booties~
This is a fun accessory trend for summer that I just had to include. They're a little riskier than some of the other trends, but you don't have to invest too much to have some fun. I found a really great option on Amazon, priced well under $50, and I think the pointy toe makes them more fashionable. I think they can be worn with everything from distressed jeans to a LBD, white is a neutral after all. (And don't forget to keep some Magic Erasers on hand, they're key to keeping white footwear clean!)

Thanks for reading, have a fabulous day. :)
