Hi friends! Today I want to share 3 beauty finds that I’m absolutely loving so far this summer!

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Whipped Body Balm~$5.79

Y’all. This is hands down the best body moisturizer I’ve ever used, and I’ve tried many lotions and potions through the years. This body balm contains hyaluronic acid and has a lovely whipped, velvety texture. It has a nice light scent as well, and the price for value is amazing! I keep it in my nightstand and slather my hands and feet with this dreamy cream every night before bed.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Lip Gloss in “Cream and Sugar”~$28

Quite pricey for a gloss but lovely packaging, not sticky, and super shiny and plumping. Marc Jacobs claims this gloss has the shine of “30 coats of lacquer” and I agree! The cream and sugar color is the most lovely nude without being overly pink. I keep it in my purse for touch-ups on the go, and it’s such a versatile color that matches everything. Also, Marc Jacobs Beauty offers 10% off 1st purchases!

Colored Eyeliners~

Lately I’ve been having lots of fun playing around with colored eyeliners. I’ve been giving my tried and true dark brown hues a break for purples and greens! I feel like they make my green eyes pop and add an unexpected touch to my daily makeup routine. I’ve been loving this eyeliner pen in purple and this twist-up liner in a rich olive green shade.

I love learning more about what's swimming around in our oceans and sharks are so mysterious to me. Ulta Wishlist ~ Summer 2019

Flipping through the June Ulta catalogue made me want to hop on my iPad and order a few things (Plus, who can resist a good coupon?). I love refreshing my beauty routine seasonally, so here’s what made my wishlist for summer:

I Heart Revolution Palette in “Chocolate Dipped”~$7

OK, so the packaging totally got me, but can you blame me? The top of this eye shadow palette is a squishy donut! Plus, the 5 universally flattering shades are a great mix of shimmers and mattes, and the shadows are even chocolate scented!

Ulta Beauty Body Sorbet in “Pineapple”~$10.50

This sorbet gets excellent reviews and is a fun whipped texture. It’s full of Shea butter, Jojoba oil, and vitamins. It’s like a guilt free treat for your skin!

The Body Shop Truly Nourishing Hair Mask in “Banana”~$18

Choc full of banana purée from Ecuador, this smells like a dream and is gentle for daily use on all hair types. I love the banana line from the Body Shop, it’s very moisturizing but doesn’t weigh my hair down at all. (I may smell like a fruit stand all summer, hehe.)

Ulta Beauty Collection On-the-Go Kit in “Jet Setter”~$20

This 6-piece is so perfect for travel anytime of year. It’s a little kit that contains a sleep mask, blackberry lip oil, and lavender facial mist to relax in flight as well as blotting papers and the cutest passport-shaped eye shadow palette for freshening up before landing! It all comes packaged in a pretty purple pouch.

Escada “Miami Blossom” Rollerball~$26

An exclusive to Ulta I smelled this in store and I’m hooked! It’s the lightest, fruitiest, freshest scent and perfect for summer. It smells like a fancy cocktail- the notes are pineapple, watermelon, jasmine, and tuberose. Yum!

My Everyday Makeup ~ May 2019

Although I am very into makeup, I don’t keep tons of it laying around. Instead I keep a cosmetic case with my everyday look and I don’t purchase more until I run out. I feel like once you open and start using makeup on your face bacteria can grow. That’s why I also stay away from makeup blenders and brushes. 

Here’s what’s currently in my cosmetic case:

Face-
Mac Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation in shade C2-
Ever since I learned about his product in flight attendant training it has been the only thing I use on my face. It easily lasts 12 hours and isn’t heavy in the slightest. It creates a smooth, matte finish and I love that you can buy refills for the sponge that comes with it, it’s actually very good quality. I also use MAC Studio Finish, a creamy concealer, in shade NC15 when I need to cover a blemish.

Makeup Revolution Jelly Highlighter in shade Prestigious-
I purchased this from Ulta back in January and I have been using it ever since. The texture of jelly glides on so smooth and stays put all day. It is the prettiest rose gold shimmer and isnt full of glitter so it’s perfect for daytime. 

Eyes-
Too Faced Pretty Puppy Eyeshadow Palette-
I’ve done a review of this palette in a previous post and I absolutely love it! Aside from being cute as a button it’s full of 6 super versatile shades that apply beautifully and last all day without creasing. 

Jordana Retractable Eyeliner in shade Eggplant-
These are super inexpensive and work great! No sharpening needed and I find them at my local Walgreens for only a few dollars. I love this deep purple shade to bring out the green in my eyes. They also sell a great range of other colors. 

Lancôme Hypnôse Drama Mascara in shade Excessive Black-
I am currently using a sample of this mascara and I love it. (I love getting 3 free samples with cosmetic purchases at Nordstrom). I love the curved shape of the wand to get all the little lashes in the corners of my eyes and I love how dark the shade is. It never clumps and it agrees with my contact lenses. 

Lips-
Too Faced Rich & Dazzling Sparkling Lip Gloss in shade All the Stars-
While I love playing up my eyes, I tend to only use a sparkly nude gloss on my lips. This one is so sparkly with a faint pale pink shimmer and smells like vanilla. It isn’t sticky and the packaging is so cute. 

Honorable Mentions-
I keep a few extra things in my cosmetic case (I've used this Cuyana one that I had monogrammed for a few years now and it still looks brand new. I am so pleased with the quality) such as tweezers for my brows, a Burberry gold shimmer lipstick for nighttime (I purchased it at Sephora in Poland-I can’t find a link for it), and a sample of Dior lash primer that I have been loving when I want to condition my lashes or give them some extra oomph.

Face Mask Favorites ~ Jan 2019 and ***My 1st Giveaway!!!***-CLOSED

Since I’ve discovered face masks, I haven’t needed to book a facial appointment at the spa. I try and use them once a week and find it such a relaxing self care ritual. I’m always on the lookout for new brands and formulas and thought I’d share a few I’ve enjoyed using lately-

Tony Moly Skin Purifying Green Tea Mask-

I've tried almost everything from this brand, I can't get enough Korean skincare! These sheet masks are inexpensive yet very effective, nicely scented, and they have such a vast variety. The skin purifying Green Tea one is a favorite of mine to do at the the end of the evening with a hot mug of green tea.

Tula Insta Bright Sheet Mask-

I’m new to the brand and thought I’d check out their face mask. It’s a sheet mask full probiotics, which I know as good for your tummy but had no idea it’s good for your skin! This left my face slightly red immediately after but it subsided shortly. When the redness was gone my skin looked so plump and even! 

 

Olay Fresh Reset Pink Mineral Complex-

This is such a neat concept. A clay mask in stick form that you twist up like a giant lip balm. I chose the refresh version. You just apply it to dry skin, wait 10 minutes and wash off. I know some of the reviews say the color didn’t come off but I didn’t have any problems. I put it on and putzed around the bathroom and then hopped in the shower. My skin felt smooth and even and I appreciated how precise I was able to apply it. This will be great to travel with as well!



Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Overnight Gel Mask-

This little tub packs a punch! Inexpensive and I find that one little pack is actually enough product to use for 3-4 nights. It has a nice smell to it and is a light non stick formula. You put a thick layer on and let dry before bed and rinse off in the morning. It doesn’t stain the sheets either. The hyaluronic acid is so deeply moisturizing.

My In-Flight Essentials

Hi there! I always love reading what other people find valuable to bring along for airplane travel, so I thought I’d share mine! Here’s a few things I brought with me on our trip a while back:

Wet-Ones Antibacterial Wipes-

First order of business when I get to my seat is to wipe down everything in sight. The arm rest, tray table, everything. I know this may seem overboard but I am not blessed with the strongest immune system and I know how rarely those surfaces are actually cleaned. (They're also very good for your hands, car spills, movie theater seats, etc.-I always keep a pack in my purse.)





Emergen-C-

This goes without saying, but being jammed next to strangers during flu season for hours while breathing recycled air is no picnic. Although I wound up getting sick at the end of our trip, I’d like to think that taking this religiously leading up to our trip as well as on the plane helped me to not get sick sooner. 


Bose headphones-

David has the over the ear noise canceling ones that he uses on every single trip, but I prefer earbuds. These have excellent sound quality and are quite comfortable in my ears for a long period of time. Plus they take up no space in my carry on and are much less expensive than the other kind!


Tony Moly Banana Sleep Pack-

My skin is very dry to begin with but being on the plane dries it out even more. I try not to travel in makeup on an overnight flight so I wash my face right before we leave the house and apply this thick sleeping mask when we get on the plane. It smells like banana candy and is very gentle for sensitive skin. It is packed with banana, chamomile and honey extracts. I feel like it acts as a barrier between my skin and the pollution of the airplane as well. 



L’Occitane Almond Delicious Hand cream-

This stuff isn’t cheap but it works! It smells heavenly and isn’t greasy but since it’s packed with both almond milk and almond oil it is still thick enough for dry winter skin. 



Chanel Hydrating Conditioning Lip balm-

At $37 this would be over my personal price range for what I would ever spend on a lip balm. But since it was a gift from a David a while back I wanted to bring it on this trip to enjoy and use up. It has a slight floral scent and a satin like texture, it isn’t sticky at all. It gives your lips such a plump appearance, it would be excellent as a base under lipstick in dryer months.

Winter Skincare Faves

Here’s a quick rundown of some perennial favorites for the cold, dry climate this time of year in my neck of the woods:


Clinique Comfort hand and cuticle cream-$24
The best hand cream I’ve found to date. It’s unscented, super thick without being greasy. It’s also convenient that it’s 2 products in 1. You can never go wrong with Clinique in my book. 

                               


Lancôme Hydrogel sheet mask-$15
This item is a bit of a splurge for being a one time use mask, but I love using these before an important night out, or the morning after a late night. Just one of these masks contains 30ml, equivalent to one whole bottle of Lancôme’s signature serum! I feel like it also locks in more moisture than the paper masks. Plumps and hydrated your skin in just 10 minutes. Very good on sensitive skin too.

                         

Laura Mercier Crème Brûlée Sugar Scrub-$50
This is such a luxurious treat in the shower. It smells heavenly and the sugar truly scrubs away any dead winter skin while improving skin tone. It comes with the cutest little scoop so you don’t have to stick your fingers in the jar. Also, I know it’s pricey but my last jar lasted me almost 6 months. 
                 
Sarah Happ Lip Slip Balm-$24
If a super thick balm is your jam, then this one is for you. It is the faintest color pink, has a nice light scent, and is one of the thickest lip balms I’ve ever used. I enjoy using this in the morning under lipstick and at night as a mask for my lips before bed. I also have a coconut lip scrub from this brand, very good as well. 
                                         
Bath & Body Works Pocket Bac 5 Pack-$6 for 5
A winter skincare list wouldn’t be complete for me without some sort of antibacterial hand product. With flu season in full force I don’t leave the house without it. (This little guy is cuteness overload and I think I need him.)
